Time for another Sports Salon. Time for Seahawks talk about a return to the Super Bowl.
On Aug. 11, please join me and Tony Softli, Sports Radio KJR 950 analyst, former NFL executive and Washington Huskies linebacker, for a premium inside look at the Seahawks season ahead of the first preseason game at Kansas City Aug. 13.
The format is a happy hour — free food and cheaper drinks — at one of Seattle’s hidden gems, the World Trade Center Seattle’s fourth-floor restaurant on the Seattle waterfront, next to the Marriott hotel.
The Sports Salon is a chance to hear Seattle’s sports figures and media observers in a casual, intimate setting and get your questions answered about current topics.
Softli comes by his expertise from nearly a lifetime of football on the field, sidelines and front office. A Newport High School grad and former University of Washington linebacker when the Huskies won the 1979 Sun Bowl, he was an assistant coach under legendary UW coach Don James.
Softli worked for the Carolina Panthers for 11 years in various personnel capacities before joining the St. Louis Rams as vice president of player personnel for four seasons.
Softli is a regular guest analyst on KJR. His podcasts can be found here.
He also is director of college recruiting for the NFLPA’s annual Collegiate Bowl and has his own consulting business, Cattleya Media LLC.
Happy-hour networking begins at 5 p.m. The program begins at 6 p.m., when Tony and I share what we have observed at Seahawks practices, then turn the final part of the evening to your questions.
Please bring your curiosity and your appetite — the WTC treats make a full meal — and come away nourished two ways.
The Seahawks are quietly confident that this season could be their best yet. Find out why Aug. 11. Bring your Seahawks seasonal prediction for a chance to win $500 in Alaska Airlines travel credits.
